We are looking for someone with a strong customer service mindset / adaptable to a busy environment. Friendly customer service and maintaining a professional appearance are musts. Candidate must be on time, have a strong sense of honesty and great ethics. You must maintain a professional attitude/ focus on work at all times. Our space is open kitchen concept and you need to understand the fast paced kitchen work. Candidates are expected to support the kitchen as needed.
Weekend and Holidays availability is a must!
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:
- provide great with customer experience, with a friendly and respectful attitude toward customers
- provide an upscale coffee shop experience ( espresso, latte art, matcha, trendy drinks)
- develop and expand drinks menu
- strong work ethic and integrity
- clean dishes when needed
- back of house support when needed is a must ( sandwich prep, cookie portioning etc)
Required skills include, but are not limited, to the following:
- 2+ years experience barista at specialty coffee shops, artisanal bakery/cafe (highly preferred)
- experience using La Marzocco espresso machines
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to quickly and efficiently pack products and accurately fulfil orders
- strong multitasking skills, with a warm and professional approach
- excellent team player who thrives in a respectful, non-toxic work culture
- knowledge of POS systems and cash handling
- knowledge of food handling safety
- attention to detail
- passion for coffee, matcha, blended drinks and comprehensive knowledge of different coffee, matcha, blended beverages and techniques
- knowledge of sourdough, baked goods, pastries, cakes is preferred
- be capable of lifting 50 pounds
Job Types: Full-time (preferred), Part-time
Holiday and weekend availability is a must
Hourly pay, dependent on skills & experience
Ability to commute to Garwood NJ 07027 is a must
